CHIMBONETWORK GROUP ("we", "our", "us") operates www.chimbonetwork.com, the CHIMBONETWORK Marketplace, the CHIMBONETWORK Truck Portal, our client dashboards and related apps (together, the "Services"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and the choices you have. We process personal information in line with applicable data protection laws, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 of Tanzania.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account information
- Name, email address, phone number and password
- Company name, company registration number, TIN, country, city and address
- The account types you choose: Buyer, Seller, Transporter or Business Client
- Language and currency preferences
b. Verification (KYC) documents
To verify buyers, sellers, transporters and business clients we may ask for a National ID or passport, company registration certificate, TIN certificate, business licence, trading or export licence, driver's licence, vehicle registration and insurance documents.
c. Marketplace information
- Listings you create, including descriptions, prices, locations, images and supporting documents
- Inquiries, quotation requests, quotations and deals
- Listings you save and reports you submit
d. Truck Portal information
- Loads and cargo details, routes, dates and rates
- Truck details such as registration, type, capacity and vehicle documents
- Driver details such as name, phone number and licence information
- Shipment status updates, delivery documents, proof of delivery, ratings and reviews
- Location updates, only when a transporter chooses to share live location for an active shipment
e. Orders, projects and payments
Project, order, invoice and support records, and payment references. Payments are processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card details.
f. Communications
Messages you send through contact forms, inquiries, support tickets, live chat, our AI chat assistant and WhatsApp.
g. Technical information
IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser, device and operating system, pages visited and security logs.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account and dashboard
- Review verification documents and show verification status
- Publish approved listings and connect buyers, sellers and transporters
- Coordinate loads, shipments, tracking and proof of delivery
- Deliver ICT projects, orders and support
- Send service emails and notifications about your account and activity
- Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access
- Improve the Services and meet legal obligations
3. Verification Documents
Verification documents are stored privately. They are available only to you and to authorised CHIMBONETWORK GROUP staff who review them. They are never published. Other users see only your verification status.
4. What Other Users Can See
- Published listings, including the seller's company name, location and verification status
- Transporter profiles, verified trucks, ratings and reviews
- Details you share in an inquiry, quotation, load or shipment, which are visible to the other party involved
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Other users, where needed to complete an inquiry, quotation, trade or shipment
- Service providers who help us run the Services, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processing, mobile money, spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), messaging (WhatsApp) and AI chat assistance
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety
- A successor organisation in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax, audit, dispute and fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Data Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, private document storage and activity logging to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please keep your password confidential.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing. You can update most account details from your dashboard. For other requests, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
The Services are intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International Transfers
Some service providers may process information outside Tanzania. Where this happens we take reasonable steps to keep it protected.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with its revised date.
